St. Louis – St. Louis Bosnians Inc. is proud to announce that our annual scholarship for students in the U.S., and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be renamed, and going forward will be known as “Erna Grbic – Memorial Scholarship” in memory of our beloved community member, activist, and a friend who left an indelible mark on our community and our lives.
Over the years St. Louis Bosnians Inc. scholarship funded over 20 students of various backgrounds, and interests. Today those students are engaged members of their communities, college graduates, young entrepreneurs, and even professional athletes.
When establishing the scholarship our aim was not only to help out those most gifted and eager to study but also those who showed resilience yet needed just a little financial nudge on their road to a better life. Erna was one of those who was always willing to land a hand and give that extra push to those around her regardless of their background, or belief. This scholarship will embody the resilience of our student recipients, and our willingness to assist them in their studies as Erna assisted our entire community.
